4300 W Roosevelt & Lawndale Innovation Center
4300 W Roosevelt and the Lawndale Innovation Center was developed for this site to achieve three key objectives.
The first is to construct an industrial development expected to yield long-term, sustainable job and wealth creation.
The second is to incorporate meaningful local community involvement in the project from pre-development through completion.
The third is to mitigate environmental, noise, and trucking concerns associated with industrial uses in a neighborhood environment.
This development will go beyond the City’s objectives of revitalizing the area create increased economic activity, job creation, and opportunities for local residents.
The $38.4 million project by 548 Development and Related Midwest will leverage the location’s strengths for freight and logistics by creating a 320,000 square foot industrial complex consisting of two sustainable, solar-powered buildings, and a separate 10,000 square foot community and innovation center. The innovation center will maximize opportunities for neighborhood community groups, such as community meetings and events, workforce development programs, and community creation and innovation.
The Industrial Complex & Innovation Center is part of the City of Chicago's INVEST South/West program.
